Namwala, September -04-ZANIS-Namwala District Commissioner Mr Wilson Siaduka has advised the Shimunenga ceremony Organizing committee to show commitment and hard work if the ceremony was to be a success.

 

Mr Siaduka said plans by the organizing to invite President Rupiah Banda and other dignitaries’ to the ceremony call for the organizers to work hard and prepare adequately.

 

Speaking during a the formation of the Shimunenga District committee in Maala today, Mr Siaduka said  more preparations were needed before the event which would take place on October 3 to 4 this year.

 

“It is important for you to show serious commitment and hard work to make the event more colourful since you intend to invite prominent people” Mr Siaduka said.

 

He noted that among other issue that needs to be addressed include construction of good toilets, preparing adequate food, improving water supply and perching of tents.

 

Meanwhile, organizing committee chairperson Mr Amos Kande said the committee have not fundraised any money casting a dark cloud over the preparations.

 

The committee has however, written to companies such as Zain, Nakambala Sugar Company, Zambia Bottlers among others for financial assistance.
