The district was funded K1,860,000,000 (one eight six billion kwacha to construct thirty one (31 new classrooms on 25th March 2008 and the money was distributed into the different accounts for the recipient schools and communities

Challenges
- Poor community participation in providing unskilled labour as expected
- Erratic supply of upfront materials by communities
- Contactors not paying their workers in good time leading to stoppages of work.
- High cost of transportation of building and upfront materials
- Some project have run of money

CONSTRUCTION OF DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICES
In November 2008 the district was funded four hundred million to construct an office block.
The foundation block was laid the DC Namwala District at a ceremony attended by all heads of departments in the district
